Pietro Murdaca came to Vacaville in February of 1956. He and his family came from Antonimina, Italy, a small southern village, in which Pietro was born and raised. Pietro Murdaca came to Vacaville in February of 1956. He and his family came from Antonimina, Italy, a small southern village, in which Pietro was born and raised. He married Amalia at an early age and they had three children. Daughter Toni and two sons, Joe and Jim. Pietro decided to move to America where he could give his family a better way of life.
In April of 1957, Pietro opened a small 28 seat restaurant at this same location. He introduced Vacaville and the surrounding area to his style of southern Italian cuisine. Pizza was something new in this area and it wasn't long before Pietro's pizza became a local favorite. Working with his wife and family, Pietro's restaurant soon built a reputation for good and ample portions that was talked about, not only locally, but throughout the Solano County area.
The Murdaca family continues to serve its customers today as its founder, Pietro Murdaca did in the beginning. We hope you enjoy your experience at Pietro's of Vacaville and will return for another visit.
